Recording Your Headaches
Essential Information
The only information you absolutely need to track is:
When your headache started (date and time)
When your headache ended (date and time)
You can quickly log these details and return later to add more information when you're feeling better. I know I can’t think of tracking anything during an attack, so I use it after my attack has stopped.
Additional Details
While not required, recording additional details helps build a more complete picture of your attack.. For each record, you can add:
Pain Level Assessment: On a scale of 1 to 10.
Location Tracking You can specify where the headache occurs using these options:
Right side (behind the eye)
Left side (behind the eye)
Forehead
Top of head
Back of head
While some of these locations may not necessarily indicate cluster headaches, it is useful for you to discern which headaches are cluster headaches.
Medications and Triggers: Record any medications you've taken and potential triggers you've identified.
Managing Your Headache History
The Recent History section serves as your comprehensive headache diary. Here's how to make the most of it.
Viewing and Editing Records
Every recorded attack appears in your history. You can:
View complete details of any attack by clicking on that record
Add information to partial records
Correct mistakes in existing records
Delete incorrect entries
Filter entries by date range
Sort attacks by most recent or earliest occurrence
Import/Export
Exporting Records: You can export your entire history as a CSV file. This is useful for:
Keeping personal backups
Sharing with healthcare providers
Analyzing your data in other tools
Importing Previous Records: If you're switching from another tracking method, you can import your historical data through a CSV file. We cannot accept any incomplete rows in this file, and you will get an error.
Here's exactly how to format your data:
Required CSV Format:
Pain_level,location,start_date_date,start_date_time,end_date_date,end_date_time,medications,triggers
You can copy the above into your excel to make sure the column headings match.

Times must use HH:mm:ss format (example: 22:49:29)
Location must be indicated as:
'l' for left side
'r' for right side
‘tl’ for top of head
‘fr’ for forehead

If you get an error, please check
That the column headings are in the right format and don’t use any capital letters
Format of date and time are right. You can change these on Excel under format
Remember to include the first 0 in case of midnight attacks
Any incomplete entries
